I'm considering purchase of a pcgs graded note with an obvious ink mark in the center of it about 1/2" long or so. Pcgs has straight graded it without any comments. Please comment, it's a note around $1000 value if that matters.

It's worth what the PCGS grade is - now it's up to you to determine if that PCGS grade is correct! At auction a TPG grade can be a lot higher - it's not up to the price guide - it's up to the people bidding - you never know!

Are you sure the ink mark is on the note and not the slabbed holder? Sometimes it can be hard to tell. If the mark is on the note, it should have been stated on the holder. Some faults are deemed expected for the grade, so if this note was graded VG or Fine then a small mark isn't always mentioned. The note here looks like it could be VF20 or even VF25, so it should have been mentioned if it's on the note.

The ink is not on the holder but the note itself. Pcgs has graded it vf25 without comment.

Could you live with the ink mark if you bought it?
