I started out collecting Lincoln cents, then worked 80% through Indian cents and "hit the wall". Took some time off and started a type set. The type set really helped me out of the rut and I have only worked on it since then... I doubt I'll go back to date sets.

Take a break and just enjoy your current collection. The spark will come back!

In my case I was on a six year hiatus due to health issues. Now I'm on fire again.

I'm still collecting just not posting about it. I think I got burned out on the social aspect of it. It comes back, I've been on and off since I was 7. The longest I didn't do much was from 22 to mid 30's but I came back in my 30's and went away again in the 40's, came back at 49 and only slowed down last year.

i haven't lost interest; I'm just broke all the time. i'd love to be able to get to the point of feeling 'burned out'.

in the case of my ASE collection, I wasn't 'burned out' as much as the mint just killed it for me. I'm still very keen on finishing my LWC folder, type album and morgan folders. I'm just perpetually in the poorhouse. hard to devote anything-- money, energy, brainpower-- to the hobby when constantly, endlessly stuck in survival mode. having a human parasite attached to my life also is not helpful.
