I collect papal medals not coins. But sometimes I pick a coin just because it looks nice. This is one suck. Common, is found on sale for its silver price. But I liked it. The iconography was so fitting for a Vatican coin: wheat and grapes.
Now it makes a good subject to try to guess grade. What MS would this one be?
I recently acquired 8 Vatican coin sets. All the 500L lire coins were taken out for their silver value I'm guessing. Made the rest of the set a lot cheaper.
Thanks for the opinions. I will not put any to the test as this is a common coin. Shows I am not alone in finding these more recent silver coins hard to grade on that scale.
