I can't really tell if its a coin crack or a die crack near the C I'm leaning towards sometimes it looks raised or it's sunken, I can only get it at a certain angles so I'm guessing a coin crack.
The little burr or spiky bit jutting out the side of he coin is interesting.

Also the long cuts I'm guessing they seem to travel the he entirety of the coin but skip all the details so unless someone's a magician with a slicer I'm guessing they where here before it was cast.

What grade(quality) do you think I should refer to it as? Is it worth nuchh?

Forgive my constant adjusting and spelling I can't see well enough ATM to even read text, I have to type this with one eye closed.

Your "crack" is very faint; I can't tell if it's a die crack, or just a crack-shaped stain. I'd be inclined towards "stain", just because die cracks are usually less subtle than this. As a general rule, if a feature on a coin only shows up under certain precise lighting conditions, it's probably not a "real" feature.

The parallel striations likewise have a couple of explanations: they could be "polishing marks" from someone over-zealously polishing a die, or they could be toning streaks which are a natural outcome of blank production (kind of like the "woody" toning pattern, only less obvious). Again, it depends on whether the features are raised or not, which is hard to tell from these pictures.

Not quite sure where the "little burr or spiky bit" is?

None of this should give much if any premium to a regular Unc 1988 50 cent coin, I would think.

I agree with SAP.

Die polishing marks make the most sense. I can't see a die crack and the slight extra rim showing is a common feature on Australian coins where they are slightly off centre within the collar when the coin is struck.

It looks to be in EF or AUNC condition and would possibly get you about $2 on ebay.
