I agree Byzantine. Looks to me like someone tried to flatten out a Trachy and ended up with that ginormous crack.

Billon or bronze trachy with Mary (MP) enthroned obverse?
First type with this obverse with Mary enthroned appears to have been John II 1118-1143 (Sear 1943). The trick will be to match up the (scant) reverse details to find the ruler.

Other possibilities:
Manuel I (Sear 1964,1965)
Isaac II (Sear 2003)

...probably more

Nice work @tdz. Of those you listed, Sear 2003 seems to me to be the closest match of design elements (since so little of the legends are available). See this coin, for example:
