Hi all,
Was wondering for those using verdi-care. How are you applying the product? Are you using a lint free cloth or some other applicator.
I'm having issues with air pockets, clumping and lint. Best results I've had so far are on my older zinc coins but my coppers are not turning out well. Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I soak. The only time I rub is to work the product into a nasty spot. I just use a q-tip or a toothpick. Keep in mind, this is an otherwise "damaged" coin so I have nothing to lose. Even after that, if I like the results, I soak in a fresh batch. Not a lot, just enough to cover the surfaces and flip a few times.

I use VC on small cents, just a drop in the center I'll tilt the coin until the liquid reaches the rim than I'll rotate the coin and allow gravity to control the flow until the entire surface is coated. Once I feel the work is completed, I'll use toilet paper to absorb the remaining VC. Then repeat on other side.

I put small dot of VC on then lightly speed with a tooth pick, let it soak then I take a Q-tip and lightly wipe it off OR I will just put the VC on a Q-tip and use it that way.

Seriously wet behind the ears with regard to Verdi-Care. But, apparently, the approach is cautious, and not to expect miracles.

I wish they'd use a more pliable plastic for their squeeze bottles. 60ml is my only experience. Takes a firm grip to get a drop out.

90% of the time I use VC it's only for tiny spot treating. I apply a super tiny drop to the corrosion/residue, let it stand a bit, work it with a toothpick and dab it off. If it's removed, I'll rinse with water to get the VC fully off. This encompasses vast majority of my conservation on coins.

I use VC extensively on dirt coin restorations. Cover a whole side and prod stubborn areas with moistened toothpick (just poke, never pry or force). Pat dry with jewelers cloth and rinse with hot tap water. Then quick Acetone bath and, if the coin restoration is finished, a light coating of VC or Microcrystalline Wax for protection.
I swing a metal detector and have a knack for finding dirty old coins.

I give them acetone baths before the VC. I use Q-tips. It's hard to articulate this in writing. I use my VC very sparingly. The best advice I can give you or anyone regarding VC.... Practice on none valuable copper first.

I think I once posted the before and after results of a clipped Wheat cent here once. It's gotta be in the top 10 best results of VC!!......IMHO, if I do say so myself.

I have had the same 3L of VC for about 10 years now and conserved thousands of coins but today I'm down to about 300 mL. It lasts for a LONG time if you use it right.

Exactly! My bottle is so old, the wording on the label is gone.

BadThad-

Do you have any dramatic before and after pics, after using your product?

How many coins do you think you've used it on?
