I have this 2 pf 1874 A German coin that is supposed to be copper, but has a silver colour with no copper tones whatsoever. The weight is correct and it is definitely used. Were they issued in nickel, plated, or what do I have here?

The Numista listing for this coin mentions "Nickel assays from 1874 A and copper assays from 1874 J are known."
