Lower price than I would have expected.

It's been 15 years since I actively did coin photography, and controlled lighting was always the bane of the process, especially with slabbed coins and glare.

It won't get you pro-level stills or videos (IMO), but this appears to be a (comparatively) inexpensive way for someone to get into coin photography and be able to control lighting angles and intensity, whether using DLSR or phone camera.

The beta versions had some limitations, especially re: reflective toned coins, but the production model appears to have mitigated some of the deficiencies.

I have not worked with the beta units firsthand, but I spoke with several people who have.

Not afiliated with the project or creator, but have backed the Kickstarter.

Looks nice. At least it's not a typical light box.

Definitely some thoughtful improvements from the original - the top light as an alternative/addition to the axial.

I'm not really sure about the rotation for video - it seems like it was an afterthought, and the sample videos have too much glare/external artifacts coming into the screen. It needs a porthole for the phone and a holder to support it.
