I'm trying to sort out all the different Eisenhower dollar varieties and what sets included them. From what I have gathered is that the 1971 and 1972 P&D were not included in any Mint sets. The 1971-1974 40% Silver Clad were the "Blue Ike" packages and the "Brown Ikes" were the 40% Silver Proofs. The 1975 Mint and Proof set had the Variety 1 and the 1976 Mint and Proof set had the Variety 2.
1976-S 40% Silver Clad and Silver Clad Proofs were from the 3-coin (Quarter/Half/Dollar) Bicentennial sets.

Here is the list of variations I have come up with...
1971
1971-D V1 (Friendly Eagle - Accented Crater Lines)
1971-D V2
1971-S Silver Clad
1971-S Silver Clad Proof
1972 V1
1972 V2
1972 V3
1972-D
1972-S Silver Clad
1972-S Silver Clad Proof
1973
1973-D
1973-S Silver Clad
1973-S Clad Proof
1973-S Silver Clad Proof
1974
1974-D
1974-S Silver Clad
1974-S Clad Proof
1974-S Silver Clad Proof
1976 V1 (Bold Lettering)
1976 V2 (Delicate Lettering)
1976-D V1 (Bold Lettering)
1976-D V2 (Delicate Lettering)
1976-S V1 Silver Clad (Bold Lettering)
1976-S V1 Clad Proof (Bold Lettering)
1976-S V2 Clad Proof (Delicate Lettering)
1976-S V1 Silver Clad Proof (Bold Lettering)
1977
1977-D
1977-S Clad Proof
1978
1978-D
1978-S Clad Proof

List looks good to me.

The Friendly Eagle is the only one missing from my sets.

I love that this set is relatively easy and inexpensive to put together. That is, until you want higher-graded MS examples of some of them!

The recent runup of silver also bumps the cost up, obviously.

Maybe. I call it a gatekeeper to the minor variety rabbit hole I have avoided.
