I posted this cent planchet about two years ago and received some received some very helpful comments. This post is an update.
The photo of the NGC graded example is one of four previously certified by NGC. I submitted the planchet to PCGS and was advised that they do not certify this type submission. I then submitted to NGC and was advised that they needed some "provenance" and to resubmit the planchet. In the meantime, I submitted it to ANACS and was advised that it was too "risky" to certify due to the possibility of it being fake. I resubmitted it to NGC advising them that I have had the planchet in my collection for over 45 years and how/where I obtained it. It was returned asking for a Certificate Of Authenticity. NOTE: My planchet is exact size material, size, weight as the ones already certifies.
Here's my question.. How is heck do I get this possible valuable planchet "Authenticated" ? Thanks for all comments.

Seems like you're asking a question that should be directed to Mike Diamond or Ken Potter........That's all I got unless you want me to write a note for you but I don't think that would help any
Pretty neat thought .... good luck

You'll have a tough time proving that it's not a planchet for some other coin. For instance, Bermuda's 1988 1 Cent is copper-plated steel, weighs 2.8 g, and has a diameter of 19 mm.

Fascinating! The planchet itself looks like a US mint product and there is a chance the blanks were distributed for inspection since they were not official coinage yet. My first question to the TPG's, please explain the process by which the others were justified as certifiable? Perhaps you can follow in their footsteps.

nice looking planchet, but without substancial and difinitive proof it was created by the mint, you will have a very hard time getting it attributed properly.
