Good morning, I have inherited a 1776 WM half penny from my aunt and am wondering if it's a real or a reproduction. Any insight would be appreciated. thx

@iron, first welcome to CCF. Second, while this is a bit outside my area of knowledge, it is my understanding that the vast majority of these are replicas and you should assume that even if your aunt picked this up in the 1960s, it is almost certainly not real. As mentioned by @lcut in prior thread, this specific design is generally thought to be a replica. See this link for a 2021 discussion about a similar piece: https://goccf.com/t/404557

Lastly, it is always helpful to have weight and diameter information about posted coins. Can you please measure this piece and then post that information to this thread? Thx.

hi sorry I should have done that, the scale I have says 4g and its just under an inch in size
