Though not that noticeable in hand, under the camera light, the blue azurite pops.

It is a pretty shade of blue, with tons of remaining detail. Just confirming though that none of that is powdery such as you might find with bronze disease.

I am not sure what azurite is, but I have no eye appeal issues with a uniform greenish/bluish patina on old bronze coins. Splotchy is another thing.

Not sure how common the Aquileia mint was for ancients. For medievals, Aquileia is an interesting place numismatically.

Around 15 years I aquired a very green (and blue !) follis of Galerius
The coin had an impressive coating on it and it was difficult to tell if it was worth the time and effort
But the price was right ...
Despite my bestr efforts I achieved near zero results !
Not long ago I handed it to my brother (OBLIVIVS) to try his best
To my delight this was his best effort yet !
Nearly 90% with just enough green and blue to remind me of what once was
Having had little hope for the piece I never photographed it before !
Would that I had

Galerius as Cæsar Follis of Ticinum
GENIO POPVLI ROMANI
10.62 grams 27-29mm

Coins with blue deposits are fairly rare. I have a few, but my favorite is my "corn flake coin"-- ex Dr. John Harvey Kellogg (1852-1943) who was the founder of the Battle Creek Sanitarium and inventor of the Corn Flake.

Those blue highlights and deposits are pretty darn eye appealing to me!

Here is a coin that I accidentally turned blue.

Why-So-Blue-Maximianus?

A bit more than 10 years ago I used to do uncleaned coin lots and this was a decent LRB I got in one. I would some times bake them in an oven under low heat to dry them completely after the cleaning process, this one came out with covered in blue powder. I cleaned that off and the blue (precipitate?) under that is solid and stable.

Never did that again.
