Toning On Lincoln Cents - Coin Community Forum

Spanky59 New Member United States 38 Posts	Posted 05/19/2026 12:18 pm I'm thinking this could be the .050 tin and .950 copper makeup on the surface of the coin reacted to environmental changes over the years. When they roll out the sheets, the little nugs get spread out. This will cause areas to tone differently from the rest of the coin. Lincoln Cent Lover!
