Hello all

I would like to inquire about this coin that has now two NGC label.

NGC number: 8560113-009

The one being sold on ebay now has a "tooled" remarks. But upon checking at your verification website, the label is different.

The seller said the the coin was bought from an auction and was submitted to NGC with the current tooled label. The coin is now in loose/raw, and not inside the slab.

Has NGC just forgotten to change the image on their date base?

Attached are the images.

Thank you all!

I made a photo comparison.

Seems to me that details were indeed enhanced.

Sure looks like tooling. Contact NGC and ask them. Send them the same pics.

Wait - help me understand.

So the seller cracked it out, and is now selling it raw. Perhaps the TOOLED label was made by this seller?

HondoB, yeah maybe the seller did the tooling himself and messed with the original NGC label. Tooling reduces the value of a coin in my opinion.

this may have been someone resubmitting and NGC said tooling and issued it in a body bag; but just hasn't updated their website with the new tooled tag yet. I would wait to hear from NGC before I assign some something nefarious.

This does not make sense. I do not care much for these labels but I know that no one would throw away the not tooled label and get a new one saying tooled. Nothing to gain in that.

Some one could have bought the coin, damaged it and tried to have to have it labeled with a higher score from NGC? But I do not know any collector of ancients who cares about those NGC scores. And even NGC can spot tooling. Tooled coins are now well regarded. Such scheme was very likely to backfire.
