Normally, I usually find about one really good nickel per box, such as a wartime nickel or a Buffalo nickel. A good box would have two, and a bad box would have none. So searching this box, I found a 1945 P wartime nickel not too far into the box. About two or three rolls later, I found a 1936 Buffalo nickle. And another two rolls later, I found a 1905 V nickel which is the fourth V nickel I found CRH. Also, I found an undated Buffalo nickel and a 1991 soviet ruble, which was the last and the single year issue because of the transition government in 1991. I acid dated the Buffalo nickel, and it is a 1914 D key date. Yes, the value is probably ruined, but it is a nice hole filler. I'll post the reverse picture tomorrow.

Very interesting finds. Probably the only denomination besides cents where you can find coins over 100 years old in rolls. Almost certainly the only one where you can find not just one prior design generation (buffalo), but also the design prior to that as well (Liberty). Neat finds, let's hope the luck holds on future rolls as well! =)

That is an excellent box of nickels.

Adding to what Brandmeister correctly said - nickels are also the only CRH denomination where it is likely to find a foreign coin. I came across several hundred foreign coins during my nickel CRH days.
