Hmm that is a weird one. I was kinda thinking tapered planchet. Is the weight within mint specs?

That's a wacky-looking nickel, Brandmeister!

Quote: Is the weight within mint specs? Oops, forgot to post that. 5.06g, so 101% nominal. Completely within specs.

unevenly rolled nickel stock, maybe it was near the edge and didn't get the full thickness.

That's an odd one. A tapered planchet error should be underweight. A tilted die error should show finning at the compressed pole and weakness at the opposite pole. I would welcome the chance to study it up close.

As a guess I'd say its showing early stages of uneven spooning.
