Here is a quarter I picked up in change. I immediately noticed how well defined George Washington's hair is compared to any other Washington quarters I've ever seen.

Is this just a very good strike or is it something else? I didn't find anything on the Internet about the mint re-doing the dies that year.

@jps, if the details are better defined then perhaps this planchet was a bit heavy. Is the weight at or above mint specs?
