Greetings again here's a 1988 red Lincoln cents that has an off center that isn't much but I was looking at the FG on the reverse that looks like the flare in the g. I'm thinking it looks like this because of the off-center strike where the metal was pushed outward to make it look thicker. As always I turn to the professionals to give me education in my questions. There is a nasty fingerprint on the obverse of this sent and from my research on coins this is a big No-No for collectors although if it's a true error and a highly collectible coin would it still sell as a premium? The nine in the date looks doubled as well as the R in Liberty as well as some of the letters in IGWT. On the reverse each side of the memorial looks doubled or is that a plating issue. In Bay one of the memorial is that doubling or again a plating issue. Would be nice if this was an 89 error thanks again everybody

Need a clearer photo to be sure but from what I can see, that is a 1988 reverse.

Other than being Off Center, I am not seeing the Flared G. Looks like the normal 1988 reverse. There's also plating issues as well.

Any thoughts from others here on a quick soak in acetone to minimize that fingerprint, or is it likely already too late to make a difference?

I think it's too late to remove the finger print. Won't hurt to try.....

Very nice off center but no need for anymore pics, it's an 88 reverse.
