When you look at the rim that mark is on top of the rim not sunk in or incused.

Doesn't look like damage to me. If it was, the reverse would have a bulge on the opposite side. I'm thinking a Struck Through error or a Lamination.

That second set of pictures shows it incused very well.

Looking at the 4th photo down, I am saying that it is a Struck Through error.
I see no displaced metal plus damage would have affected the rim as well.
