My stepdad must have bought this roll of BU 1968-S cents (no picture here) from one of his good friends (who happened to be president of one of the local banks) shortly after they became available. The roll is more or less intact, except that one of the ends has been opened after they were passed on to me to ascertain that the coins were indeed of the described date and mintmark.

According to one of my Red Books, the 1968-S had a rather low mintage number, lower than 1969-S, for example (how I sometimes wished that he had bought a roll of 1969-S pennies instead, hoping that there might be a rare DDO in there, and at MS-67+ to boot...) Anyway...

Prices for this year and mintmark only become interesting after MS-66 or so. Even then, I don't think it is worth certifying the whole roll (cost = abt. $1,500), so should I open the roll and cherry-pick about 5 of the nicest ones, or try to sell the roll as a whole?
