Moe, when you get the coin from GreatSouthernCoin, I'd be curious to know if their picture is accurate.

I've purchased a few things from GSC, and have mixed results. They greatly overexpose their photos to make the colors seem stronger than they are. This mostly works to their advantage, and the coins look somewhat dull and lifeless in comparison to their pictures. However, it can also make a coins negative attributes stronger than they really are. The Capped Bust quarter I listed earlier was a great example of that, as I purchased it from GSC. The photo was full of glare and quite unattractive, but it was actually really mellow and even in hand. I made this great purchase purely by luck. They also tend to overgrade and have a lot of cleaned coins. I'm also amazed at all the raw proofs. I think many of the coins are impaired and overgraded, or else they would be in slabs. Most GSC coins seem to sell for ridiculous amounts of money. So all in all, some nice sleepers can be had from them, but mostly I consider purchasing from them a great risk. It's obvious Moe that you have the "7070 upgrade addiction" coursing through your veins! Just like me. It's a lot of fun and a wild ride.

Well, folks, I just noticed I have 15 proof sets dating from 1968 to 1995 (not every year, but most). (They were forgotten... way back on a dark shelf...) NOW, do I replace my uncirculated modern coins in my 7070 with these proofs or not? (There was a duplicate proof set from 1984 so I would still have that year in proof sealed container). Or, do I stick with the uncirculated ones? I'm in a dilmemma... What to do? Opinions?

I do have some proof coins in my album but I have to be honest I really like the look of the Mint State coins better in the album because the proofs seem to knock the whole look of the album as a whole off a little. Thats one reason I used the Bicentennial Silver Uncirculated set over the Proof Bicentennial set, I had both and really liked the way the Uncirculated set looked in the album better

I am inclined to say leave the circulated coins in there because that is what I have. The only proof I have in my 7070 is a 1982 Washington Half Dollar. It is right next to the uncirculated version and saved me from buying another commemorative half dollar. Then I look at some of the other 7070's with proof coins in them. They really look good! And you already have a proof Eisenhower dollar and two commemorative proofs in there. So in the end, I have no idea! You are on your own! For the record, all of my proof sets were 'Danscoed' long, long ago.
