the few proof coins I have in my set were mostly taken from the same proof set (a 1964 proof set that was given to me) and the cellophane packaging was causing the coins to look pretty bad and since they were given to me I never planned on getting rid of them and wanted to take the best care I could of them so they had to be taken out of the packaging anyway

Quote: I must say you've been very helpful! Sorry! Okay, how about this. Flip a coin! Bust up the proof set if heads, leave it alone if tails. Or maybe bust it on tails? Wait, how do we determine... Proof set, call it in the air! No, that won't work; proof sets cannot talk. You are still on your own!

Keep the proofs in if they make you happy. I think they look swell. :-) My set is pretty much all business strikes, but I snuck a classic proof in for the fun of it.

It's like an old car. Just keep the original parts and you can always go back!!
Now I just have to upgrade all the others to proofs!!

I swapped out the 1909D Barber quarter in the 7070 with this one I just got (plus I needed to put the 1909 D back into it's hole!)

I am working on my first Dansco. Trying to do a Franklin half set with proofs and ms65's. I still have a long way to go, but my next to try will be a 7070. I suspect it will take a looooooong time to complete. Love yours!

Yeah, with a couple of nose scratches that didn't appear until the photo blow-up. Still it's a far better coin than I had, so in it goes!
