Very nice! Which variety is it  Wide 0  Low wide 0 Narrow 0 It looks to me like the Narrow 0  A high grade of this variety can be worth $1,000.00+  ! |

If the reference is the "O" in "fou", It looks like a wide "O". I hope that is wjhat is referred to.

It is the narrow, or oval, 0 variety which refers to the last digit in the date. It resides in a PCGS MS-64RB holder.

Very nice. I have been looking into starting a Newfoundland collection. They seem under priced compared to numbers minted.

hawk1969, you might keep an eye open for kurts. He has a Newfoundland collection, I believe, and definitely likes coins from Finland. he might be able to give some pointers.

Hello Bosox, where does one find such a fantastic piece?  I want one too !!  CCN lists it ICCS MS62 RB at CAN $ 3,800 and in 63 at CAN 7650.... Newfoundland Gold pieces, 50 cent pieces........just check the mintages.. totally under valued in better grades...by many miles... HHB |

This coin was previously owned by the consignor of the Canadiana collection, which will be sold by Heritage in January.
