Buying At Heritage Auctions From Canada

cdnDude New Member Canada 8 Posts	Posted 09/02/2009 9:06 pm I know this section is about Canadian coins but I figured this would be the place to ask. I was wondering if anyone had experience buying from Heritage Auctions and then getting the coin shipped to Canada? I know there is the buyers premium but what else was there? Duties.. are those the same as the provincial and federal tax? How did you pay? How much did they charge for shipping? Is there anything else I should be aware of first? I've personally never had any dealing with Heritage, however, from what I've heard from other collectors is that this is a very reputable company to deal with. They have a proven track record and have been around for quite some time. What I love of their auction site are their scans of the coins up for sale. The scans are soo incredible it seems as though you are holding the coin in your hand. As far as the seller fees and taxes, regardless of where you live you would have to pay the 20% buyers fees on top of the sell price and most likely customs duties when item crosses border. adanak44 Valued Member Canada 207 Posts	Posted 09/03/2009 10:07 am Hi. Most of the numismatics items are no duty but have to pay GST and PST or HST. usually the courier will collect them. Shipping cost are very reasonable. Report this Post to the Staff

Cool, I just wanted to make sure before putting in any bids. 20% buyers fees do suck but I guess it depends on the total price you end up paying for the coin.
