OK here is the Scenario. I have 2 coins I am going to send in to ANACS. I have one of the Get two free grading coupons from the HSN channel. Here are my questions.
Question 1) I am thinking about sending in two extra coins on top of the two Free ones. Will they grade them for the economy rate?

Question 2) If I send in these coins and they deem them cleaned or damaged will they still charge the full price and not grade them? and just return them?

I have never submitted any coins for grading and am kind of curious how they work.

Thanks All. Dan

I sent in a quarter to be graded at anacs a couple years ago, it was deemed to be cleaned so they sent it back to me encapsulated in a regular holder with the grade "AU 50 Cleaned" and they charged the same price as if it would have come back not cleaned. As for your first question I'm not really sure.

They grade them at whatever rate you instruct them to.

On the submission form you select your choice.

You will probably need to use two separate submission forms, one for the free grades and one for the extras. You choose the grading "tier" based on the value of the coins and the desired turnaround time. You may need to pay separate return shipping fees for the two forms; at least, that's how PCGS does it (that policy is a bit of a rip-off, IMO!).

ANACS will slab problem coins (they used to be the only top TPG who would) and will provide a details grade and a notation of the problem (i.e., "Cleaned") on the slab label.

If you can, please post your coins in the Grading forum so we can try to determine the grades. Then we can see how closely we match up to the professionals at ANACS.
