Use the link for reporting ebay auctions found here at Coin Community

Yes, that's a good link! I put in my .02, and I know PCGS was alerted as well. Btw, I don't want to suggest ebay doesn't act on these auctions. I'm just bummed that bidder IDs are now encrypted, because I used to directly warn people about a lot of fake stuff--not just coins. As this forum proves, an open online community is a good thing.

An XF40 blast white coin with wear
As mentioned, report these sellers. The devices just look wrong.
Link removed. Good!

I imagine the seller was a tad disappointed

Better yet, hopefully his luck will run out with law enforcement.

Thank you for a very informative discussion. I am an ebay coin collector and trust PCGS slabs. Now I am not so sure what to buy. Even PCGS slab is not a guarantee now.

Can anybody analyze the picture of the replica Trade dollar listed at

http://cgi.ebay.com/Replica-U-S-Tra...ow_W0QQitemZ110461786017QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCoins_US_Individual?hash=item19b80917a1

If you don't take account of the word copy, can you tell whether it's fake or not?

I'm a novice on these coins, but the wear along the part of the rim below the date seems unusually strong compared to the rest of the coin. If I saw that I'd question how you could get that much wear there but not on the date just millimeters away.

Thank you for sharing your experience, Saruma.

I saw a "1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar $1 2 Leaves PCGS F 15" listed on the ebay. There are current 17 bids with the highest bid at $3150.55. Does this PCGS slab and coin look OK?

I hope to buy one of Flowing Hair and Bust dollars to complete my dollar type coins. However, I am not so confident to buy a coin at such price since I do not have the skill to evaluate the coin.

the flowing hair looks legit to me but this isn't my area of collecting so you may want to wait for another opinion but I don't see any features of the obvious fakes I have seen of either the slab nor the coin
