THE FIRST COMMEMORATIVE COINS OF AMERICA
Wooden box set

½ Dollar Columbus 1892
1/4 Dollar Isabella 1893
1 Dollar Lafayette 1900

The-First-Commemorative-Coins-Of-America
----------------------------------------------------
Who made this crazy set and are all the coins in this set real ?
Coinmanage 2009 prices
Isabella 600$ for example in XF-condition
Lafayette also about 600$ for example in XF.

So these sets are worth at least about 1200$ ? (or did they only put bad grade coins in to these sets like: about good-fine)

How much did these sets originally cost ?
Anyone has these sets...? opinions and so on...

its hard to tell what grade the smaller coins grade at but I doubt that dollar would grade XF from what I can see in the pictures. I don't think I have ever seen a set like this before but I have seen individual coins of these (not sure about the 1/4 dollar) and from what I can tell from individual sales your figures on what the coins are worth are a little high. I have seen the half sell for less than $50.00 in Uncirculated grades and the Dollar I have seen sell for about $500.00 in AU or above

Edit: I did some searching and the Isabella Quarter has sold under 600.00 in MS grades on ebay in the past sales like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/C-USA-1893-Isab...GH_W0QQitemZ270462770096QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCoins_US_Individual?hash=item3ef8d65bb0
The only ones I can find that has sold for more than the $600.00 mark has been MS-64 or above
