1945 D Over Horizontal D Mercury Dime

So....whats a D over horizontal D look like? Is the underlying D smaller than the top D? Are both D's supposed to be the same size? Anyone know where a picture might be found of the D over horizontal D version of this dime? and again....yes I know there is damage there but a 1959 Cadillac with a smashed fender is still a 1959 Cadillac... If this was a D over Horizontal D, you would never know it because the horizontal D would have been right in the middle of the damage. What you are seeing as a mint mark is just caused by the gouge itself. Report this Post to the Staff

And this is one that caught my eye under the loop of a 1945-D. This compare to the cherrypicker guide looks pretty similar, if majority agree, I may send in for encapsulation.
