In an ugly contest, here's the winner. I don't know why it appears gold, I think it is real.

Some very nice coins on this thread, this series still looks nice even in some of the lower grades. I especially like the '47 over small 7!

I thought I would post mine too, from 1844 (didn't see this date yet) It's my one and only Braided Hair Cent... or actually the only USA coin from 19th Century And the quality is rather bad unfortuanetly, but I thought the price was really good (about $2), since the catalogus says $20 in Good, $30 in Very Good, etc... Please let me know if I payed too much for this one, because I'm not so good in U.S. quality terms like ms and such.

Lol I ressurected a topic from ´09 hahaha didn´t even see that!
Well at least you guys see the humor in that lol...
But on topic, is there a big difference in the years.? I see a lot of the same dates. Does anyone know for example what the coin I showed would be worth selling on internet? Not that I want to now, but maybe in the near future.

Risk taking here! I would like to resurrect this thread unless a new one is available. I just got this one yesterday, an 1839 braided hair head of 1840, and the reason I couldn't find this one earlier is from the small mintage of only 200,000. Now I only need the key date 1857 to get the complete date run from 1839-1857. As a bonus, I also cherried a 1844/841 blundered date for cheap; the dealer didn't realize they had it... I grade this personally as a VG-10/F-12ish.
