hi I'm trying to find out about this coin can some one please help,
is it gold I have been told it is but cannot find anything on the net its very heavy and very large

Unfortunately this won't be a gold coin, gold would come out of the ground still looking like gold as it is not a very reactive metal. There is probably about enought detail left on the coin to identify it, and no doubt someone who is better with Roman coins with give you a much better idea. Given it's size, prehaps a brass sestertius or Dupondous.

This is a Roman provinical coin, of what appears to be the Emperor Macrinus 217-218 AD.

This is a 4 assaria piece from Nicopolis ad Istrum showing the emperor Diadumenian on the obverse and the goddess Hygieia on the reverse.

In this condition it is worth about £10 or less

i would also like to say that this was found in concreat if that s how you spell it lol would that chance the coin, if its not gold how can I find out what it is ? thanks everyone for your help ;0)
