That is the advantage of working in a shop Nancy.

Just think you would not have them if you did not work.

I've now got a 3rd one, but as there was no response from anyone, I thought they must have been as common as, but Tiddy told me she's never seen any in circulation yet.

I can't imagine how long it'll take for the 08's & 09's to start showing up.

bigdamoc, Nothing terribly special, it's just that they were the first $10 I'd seen in circulation. They're pretty common now.

But here we are in the last half of 2010, and still only 2006 $5 and 2007 $10 to be found in circulation, nothing later.

Ozzie, I'm in Brisbane, so it's pretty hard for me to get to Canberra just to get hold of Banknotes when they become available. If I get them from circulation, they only cost me face value, so no premium payable plus no traveling.

How are the polymer notes released? does the RBA hoard them or the security companies? I'm still getting brand new 05 $5 prefix notes from change out of the self serv checkouts at woolworths. I know they are not worth much but everytime I get them they get put away!

I'm not sure how or when notes are released, but I guess in the end it's the security companies. As far as I know, they fill the ATM's and deliver notes to Banks and businesses, so if anyone is hoarding them, it's the security companies.(But you know, I could be wrong about this.)

2007 Fivers and 2009 Fifty's started showing up a little while ago in Brisbane.

NPA &/or RBA hoards them.
They printed vast numbers of $100 in 1999, in case the Y2K bug came true. They weren't used up until 2008.
Back to BigDamoc's question:
Gov Res Bank of Aus upto 2006 was Macfarlane;
from 2007 it has been Stevens; and
the Sec Treas for quite a few years has been Henry.
