It's little wonder these coins are so rare! lol Folks like us are all over. The quiet few hoarding rare coins.

Be sure to pass them on to your children, or else the market will become flooded and the value will fall!! lol Tell your children to never sell them, or else! Or else they won't be worth as much.....

We started a project last year that any loose money we find goes into a collection jar. We have noticed two things: 1. there is not as much loose change over the last year and 2. my six year old will not give up a coin because "he needs them all".

I also try to pay with cash at a lot of places because I want the change to look through. But for some reason my wife always forgets this and seems to have exact change when I turn my back for a second.

I also notice going out of my way for small town gas stations and mom and pop diners, they always seem to have something each time I go in. Before we moved last year, I would make weekly runs for some type of snack at the truck stop that was just down the road and always came home with something of interest, just wish I had one here.

The other way I know I am in trouble is when I want to go through my kids change, even if I was the one to give it to them.

I do 2-3 boxes a week (1 halves, then I change up the rest) and I feel like I want to do more. Some maniacs are doing 10-20 + boxes per week. My wife would leave me if I did that, but it doesn't mean I don't want to!

...you pull into the McDonald's drive-up to get a cup of coffee, and when you spot a Wheat penny in the change, you pull back around, and say, "I forgot, I need 25 pennies for this quarter."

Hilarious. We should keep this thread going, take all the comment and publish a short book for collectors. Call it" You know your coin collecting has gone too far when," I'd buy one.

Gosh, this is scary, you people are as insane as I am. But, in a way, I guess, that's comforting to hear. I mean, I was starting to get a complex...

You ask the waitress who just served you lunch if she has a pocket full of change that she would like to get rid of.

You buy $58 worth of change from the snack bar in your building, lock your office door and search through it for 2 hrs. Not that I'd ever do that on the clock.
