Hi, If you buy a high grad silver numismatic coin directly from mint and when you compare with the original picture, you saw a difference like that... It is suppose to be round... It look like an outgrowth. Do you think it is better to return the coin or keep it. Thanks. Edited by CdNum 12/20/2009 06:04 am

A picture of the entire coin would be more helpful so we know what coin you're referring to.

It's hard to imagine what you are even talking about without more info and picture's of what you are asking everyone to comment on? But if it is different than the original I would keep it and order another one to compare, you might have found an error or a variety coin?

I'm just guessing but it looks like a die chip to me. Not a big premium if any. John1

Hi,
Because I don't see another one and just compare to the original picture, I will not post the entire picture of this coin. I just wanted to know, if it is an error or not... but I think I will keep it :)
Thank's for your comment.

Umm, no one can tell you anything about that coin unless you let us know what specific coin it is or provide pics. What you have posted just looks like a big red-brown nothing. For all I know, it is a satellite photo of a sand dune on Mars What possible legitimate reason would you have for refusing to tell us what the coin is or provide an unambiguous photo?

NUMCanada, if you want a reliable answer, you need to AT LEAST tell us what kind of coin it is. It could be a mexican peso from 2004 for all we know. You really need to give more information.

Hi, I add pictures with more details... to confirm it is not a Mars dune There are picture of mine and the original picture. Maybe they are all like mine but I will be very surprise. It's like something want to be the first on the Starting Line It's a numismatic collectable silver coin, low mintage. Thanks for your comments.

Yeah, I agree. If you expect us to do you a favour and help you out, at least do us a favor and tell us what coin we're looking at and post a bigger picture. I'm not going to pay a guessing game with you.

Hi,
Excuse me. It is not for playing a game. I do not want to post the entire coin because I cannot confirm if it is a error. I never saw another coin like that as I said before. If I can see another one... not a picture, maybe I will post it but there are not a lot of coins like this. It may take couple of months to see another one. Sorry.
Excuse me again.

The error or variety have to be popular to gain premium. What you trying to do which doesn't help yourself and the coin community. Look at the 2009 colour Olympic 25 cents. Everybody looking for them and have fun with them. Good luck and welcome to the forum!
