I'm deviating a bit from coins, but wanted to commend Australians. During our recent trip to Europe, we encountered many Aussies, and in each case in was a very pleasant experience. The Las Vagas style song-and-dance team which performed on the cruise ship consisted of about 50 percent Australian performers, including the two lead performers. Not only were they super talented, but they were fun to talk with following the shows. Our tour guide for Normandy was an Aussie. He had married a French girl and that's why he was living in France. He was very informative, and one of only a handful who had qualified for the tour guide job. He was most helpful in attempting to steer me in the right direction to find the coins I wanted. In addition, we encountered other Aussies on board the ship, and in Europe, who were quite friendly. So, just wanted to let my Australian friends know that your country was well represented by the people we met over the past five weeks while on vacation.

Thanks for the nice comments, Gary. I think as a race, we try to be very laid back and not take things to seriously. If you like us Aussies, maybe your next holiday should be down under. I always have a cold beer in the fridge, if your passing by. LOL (but be aware, unlike Paul Hogan, we chuck snags on the barbie not shrimps). Steve

I Still Call Australia Home
I've been to cities that never close down, from New York to Rio and old London town, but no matter how far or how wide I roam, I still call Australia home.
I'm always travelIing, I love being free, and so I keep leaving the sun and the sea, but my heart lies waiting over the foam,
I still call Australia home.
All the sons and daughters spinning 'round the world, away from their family and friends, but as the world gets older and colder, it's good to know where your journey ends. Someday we'll all be together once more, when all of the ships come back to the shore, I'll realise something I've always known, I still call Australia home.
but no matter how far or wide I roam, I still call Australia I still call Australia, I still call Australia home. but no matter how far or wide I roam, I still call Australia I still call Australia, I still call Australia home.

My only complaint is that you keep all the VB for yourselves. My first night in Vietnam (many years ago) a friend and I ran across a group of Aussies in a bar in Saigon. We all hit it off and spent the rest of the night trying to drink all the beer in the city. Ended up back at the Australian NCO Club drinking VB. I fell in love with it, only to find, after I got back home that there was no way to get it here.

You've got to hand it to the Aussies.Did you know that they have even got their own Antipope of Rome? Here's a link that will interest you; https://www.shoal.net.au/~mwoa/ Aidan.

Just to add a little bit.
I had traded coins with three Australians, and really enjoyed the experience. Within the last month, that number grew to four, and this trade was also great.
I've never met the four, and likely never will, but they, along with Lim and Rggoodie, I consider as my friends.
Good people those Australians!
