Here are a couple of small 10p pieces. The shinier one is 2008, the other is 2004. If you look closely you'll see distinct differences in the dies. The easiest place to start is the jawline of the lion. (I wonder if the Mint hired two separate lions to pose for these?) The differences are more noticeable on the older florin-sized 10ps, and also on proof and BU examples. The differences in the thistle of the Ironside 5p are limited to the larger older ones.
