How Did You All Get The 1982 & 1983 Mint Sets?

Not being near a coin shop or having access to shows I am forced to buy over the Internet. How would you recommend I fulfill my needs for the coins minted in 1982 and 1983. Souvenir Sets which look to run at a large premium. This will take a lot of time and possible shipping costs but I will be able to do more quality control. How did you all do it? The quarters from 83 are the most expensive. I got most of my 82 and 83 coins on ebay. South Park Coins is also pretty reasonable for 82 and 83 BU. biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 01/30/2010 10:55 pm I purchased a privately made 1982 set complete with all seven cent varieties but I do not have any 1983s yet. Privately made 1982 sets are fairly easy to find because of collector demand for the cent varieties but the 1983s are considerably more elusive. I would not recommend breaking apart a souvenir set to fill album holes because the sets are worth multiples more than the individual coins. Some dealers at larger shows will typically have the individual coins for sale but they will not be cheap either, especially nicely struck coins in MS-64+. Report this Post to the Staff
