Picked up 24 Ikes at the bank yesterday. Out of those I found two more talon heads and one friendly. Still looking for a peg leg.

Just purchased 5 Blue Ike's (40% Silver) in the original envelopes, COA's.
*Including the S & H - I paid approx $6.83 per coin, .80 cent more per coin above silver melt $19.10 per ozt @ .3161 per coin = $6.03 , but there may be some nice Numismatic finds in this group!
2-1971S,72S,73S & a 74S.
I'll post pics after they arrive!

I guess I should start sorting through the 100-plus Ikes that I've got in a box in the closet. Of course I have little to no idea what I should be looking for, beyond the Type I/II stuff. Any ideas on specific features/dates to look out for? And naturally, I'll post pictures when I find something worth sharing.

Well, I can tell you what I found so far.
I guess my grandmother was a big fan of 1971 and 1972. She's got between 15 and 20 of each one, most of which are easily MS. Not so many from 1973, but from '74 through the bi-centennial ones she loaded up.
There are also about 20 "Blue Ike" envelopes from 1971 and 1972, and three "Brown Ike" Proofs (1971) still in the original packaging.
It's complete Ike insanity.

And I haven't even mentioned the entire box of early Kennedys.

Very nice!
Especially if your 71 and 72's are MS grade as these are usually not in that great of shape grade wise compared to later years on the Ike's.
On your Blue Ike's, I would especially look over very carefully any 1971S-Business Strike Silver for a peg leg and also for the numerous errors/die clashes etc for that year- hope you find something good!
Also the 3 Proofs for 71- check for a peg leg.
I'd love to see that box of Kennedy's you have to look thru yet- Sweet!
Have Fun!
