Hi everyone one now I heard talk about the 2005 speared Buffalo nickel but I have never seen one before. can someone please post a pick if they have found one. Crystalk I am really asking you this question because you are a fan of Buffalo nickels and nickels in general. But please can someone shed some light on how it looks like or show a pic so I can check mine

The speared buffalo is a hot fad right now. Sounds a lot like the 1995 DD.

It is a shame because people don't know how many are out there because I bet there is about a couple thousand more!

The thing is, they're really easy to spot. Typically, a non-collector will notice almost right away that something's "different" about the coin, seeing as there's a giant gash through the buffalo.

I wouldn't open them if I were you. I don't think that any speared buffalo have ever been found in mint rolls, but rather in giant bags of nickels.

I believe the reason they aren't being found in either Mint or bank rolls is because Crystalk has them all stored in large bags. He said they are easier to stack this way.
Buffaloboy, you are absolutely right when you referred this question to Crystalk. After all he is the only one I know that actually starts smelling like an old Buff along about Nov of every year. You wouldn't believe what he would do to get a shot at one of those old mangy grass eaters.

Now I have a question about this wounded Buffalo. How many of you on this forum believe this is a deliberate error caused by the mint. It is easy to think of it this way-I can remember when no one thought about coins having errors on them. I guest that makes me has having lived in the dark ages- this is what my wife keeps telling me- She says, Hon< you are living in the dark ages. I am having a hard time getting back to the here and now. - Dewey

I some times wonder that Dewey, the great hype machine the us mint. I can see it now on show like coin vault get it now only 80,000,000 dollers one of a kind pure nickel. I try to resist the coin fads for that reason
