pennylover1010 Valued Member Canada 200 Posts	Posted 03/27/2010 5:44 pm The edge view one has been cut after it left the mint. The deformed edge is a dead giveaway. If the others are flat then they could be from clipped planchets. Bit hard to see in the pics Report this Post to the Staff

pennylover1010 Valued Member Canada 200 Posts	Posted 03/27/2010 7:41 pm Okay, they are flat. You'd have to look at these coins and visualize how they'd have been struck on a clipped planchet. Do the beads (at or near the missing edge) have a shape that makes sense? Another great diagnostic would be the rim and beads opposite the "clip" should be weak (Blakesley effect). Not sure if the clip is large enough to show too much of that but ... Report this Post to the Staff
