I haven't seen one of these in years and the 1963's are very rare!

I collect counterstamped pennies and I didn't know that the Kennedy 1963's were more rare then the others. Nice find in such great shape!

They pop up at times in mostly 64's and 65's but 63's are rarer because he was shot in October after the mintage was distributed and mostly broken up. In other words, the after-stamping co.'s mostly focused on new at the time 64's and up. The 63's were scarcer for them to get with mintage at 754,110,000.

I just finished another box of pennies from the mint. I found about 10 or 15 pennies that looked like they were dipped in acid but only sections of them were eaten away. Has anyone come across anything like that before? If you would like to see pictures I can't take up and post them!

No need for photos...sounds to me like some of the zincolns I find in each and every box. Nice find on the 63 btw.
