Starting A Collection Looking For Advice!

Americanamafia Pillar of the Community United States 672 Posts	Posted 04/17/2010 8:54 pm hello all, As some of you know I have been roll hunting for awile and sold 6 rolls and change of 40%'s a few days ago. I am looking to start collecting a set that would be fun to fill from circulated coins. I think the more accurately show what the coin has done, new or MS coins look to much like pictures to me but perhaps thats just my ignorance I was thinking of franklins or barbers (halves), as both are small sets without many expensive dates. I would be filling them with junk coins or CRH coins. What does everyone think Report this Post to the Staff

scotty11 Pillar of the Community United States 1042 Posts	Posted 04/17/2010 9:46 pm If you're looking to fill a set via roll-searching, I'd suggest starting with Jefferson nickels or Lincoln cents. I don't think you're going to find many Franklin or Barber halves while roll hunting. Report this Post to the Staff

GR58 Bedrock of the Community United States 11951 Posts	Posted 04/17/2010 10:00 pm Ben Franklin could be done, XF or AU .. I think pretty cheap .. and would look nice. Barbers are much harder to find .. and would cost a lot more than the Franklin's. Another option would be a Dansco Morgan dollar date set .. I did one many years ago and I think it is a nice looking set. You pick one from each year which most holes easy to fill Report this Post to the Staff

I found,dollar for dollar,no pun intended,that a wonderful collection of Benjamin Franklin halves are a great place to start. Report this Post to the Staff
