First off - I have had dealings with the seller and they are beyond question, upfront and honest. They are just selling an ICCS graded coin.
My beef is with ICCS. I would hope that a grader of Canadian coins would understand how the coins they grade are minted. But they have put this in their holder and it is clearly homemade. Makes me sad.

LOL - don't all jump in!
The core and the ring of a twoonie are struck as one - together. No such thing as an upset core from the mint.
Fast fun project - pop the core on a twoonie, rotate 180 degrees and bang it back in.
Send it in to to your favorite Canadian TPG. One of them may grade it! Choose wisely.

this coin has already been discussed in the ICCS/CCCS thread. we all agree that it's home made.

I find it laughable that more collectors are not discussing this.......ICCS has crossed the acceptable line......hush.....do not rock the boat......too much money involved with the idiotic grading company...I hope the price of ICCS coins drops 50%........

Im with Coins on this one.. They ( ICCS ) also states and I have the paper work.. That they will not certify any coin that has been tampered with , ireegular surfaces or corroded .. Well that is all untruths as you will see those everywhere..DOWN with ICCS

Been working in the sticks - so tardy reply.
I Thought this topic was important enough that it shouldn't be hiding within another thread.
Of course, we all agree it's homemade. The point is it has been graded by ICCS - showing a severe lack of knowledge of the minting process. Scary stuff

I'm having a hard time caring since I do my research on a coin before I buy it. Obviously I've never bought a toonie nor are there any in my collection. I know nothing about them beyond what I've read here in terms of process though I've knocked the center out of a couple rolls as experiments. Were I going to buy one, I assure you I'd read every scrap available prior to purchase. You just can't rely on other firms to give you all the details. TPG's... they are people and people are sometimes wrong.

Being seemingly late to the TPG "party" I have to say I don't care what they grade or who they grade it for. When I'm spending money, I want to see the coin and grade it myself before I hand over cash no matter if the Master of The Mint graded the darn thing himself.

Now if an individual is personally are happy to buy a coin sight unseen because the label says The Kingdom Cometh Grading Company then so be it. I sometimes do send coins to TPG when I want to sell them and that's great for me that people do buy sight unseen.

An opinion from a friend is nice to have and usually well and truly considered, an opinion from a company is financially biased and useless for the most part since it's my money they want for their opinion... just too likely to tell me what I want to hear so they get more of that money.

Nothing I've heard here would change my mind.

I am new to collecting coins and don't have the knowledge or experience most here do. That being said, I think its your money - spend it in a way that your comfortable with. I like roll hunting for my coins (.999 nickel). I will not do any major coin purchases until I can grade the coin myself.

UGLY - The whole point of this thread is to tell people not to trust what ICCS has to say. They should be far more professional since they don't grade these coins out of the goodness of their heart. They charge a good buck, actually. I personally don't buy ICCS graded coins because the cost of grading gets added to the price but if I did and found I'd been ripped off, what retribution would I have? Could I sue ICCS for authorizing a fake coin?

Has anyone thought about the possibility of the ICCS packaging being fake?
I mean it wouldn't be a first time someone tried this.
Just a thought.

What darryldarryl said.

I pursued Louis to cross-grade ICCS coins (and mention the ICCS certificate number on his CCCS hard slabs) for a while, but he won't do it at all; he did it for sometime, but he was receiving so many fakes perfectly sealed in ICCS flips that he gave up this practice.

OT: note to anyone interested in cross-grading for whatever reason, the reverse is still possible; slab it in CCCS first and then submit it to ICCS.
