I have had the chance to buy gold coins for many years, Mexican, US etc, but...I like gold, and have the original item. That which comes from the 'ground', and is the result of very hard work! I like the natural gold, that I got, while drywashimng in AZ. Hot, dusty, dry, but the dirt washes off in the shower, and the sun does go down, so the heat is not a problem. Dry? How about a shot of Bacanora?

I was doinf this when gold was $35.00/oz I still have all that we, (my wife, and I), recovered. It is considered an artifact, and worth more than the regular price stated for the yello stuff. It has never been something we got excited over, because it was valuable. We worked hard, alived good, and were healthy, as a result. The recovery of the gold , didn't really make that much difference. The thrill of the hunt, is where it is! If I can get my camers set up right, i'll post a picture of some of it. You wion't see large nuggets, because there are none in the area where we worked, but you will see the fine stuff, that the area was<(is) saturated with. It was caused by "chimney blow-out", which saturated a fan-shaped area about45 degrees wide, and matbe 20 miles long. It is not commercially workable, but small one, or two man operations can be profitable. The best thing there would be a method of recovering "micron-gold". It is like dust, and will float on water. But, find a way, and you can really make it worthwhile!
I don't driove any more, due to my vision, but If I did, you can bet I would be out there "doing my thing", right now, especially with the price of gold these days, (above 1200$)!
Sorry about drifting away from the subject at hand. The coins are very beautiful, and would make a nice type collection. I doubt that they would ever be worth mote than the face value, due to mintages, butthen I don't collect gold coins. beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I like the silver, personally. Especially when it is properly frosted!
