I took a look but can't seem to find any sites that give prices for tokens. Does anyone know of any? I don't feel like paying $40 for the Canadian Colonial Tokens 7th edition. Thanks

Don't know, but you could go to the library and borrow the book for free.

i am not sure what you want?
the market will decide what you pay..
it is simply a matter of supply and demand.....

What sort of tokens? There are a few resources, but they are pretty much by type.

If you want to get into tokens, definitely buy the book before you buy the coin. Also, beware of fakes.

As for prices, I would not use dealers price guide.....I would contact individuals who are solid as Token Involved. pm me for info on a few "dealers" that I trust. If not, good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I was just looking for something similar to the Charlton Token book that is not so pricey. I'll try my local library but doubt they have current prices. Thanks to all for replying!

Prices on tokens can be all over the map. You might try subscribing to a few dealer pricelists. Try attending a coin show and talking to some dealers who will gladly offer suggestions about how you can become more savvy about pricing. As for attribution, you can probably pick up an older, 1960's Canadian guidebook. Back then, there was an excellent section on the various Canadian tokens. Those old books sel for but a few bucks or less.
