The way I am reading that, or how it sounds to me is

3 coin set - P, D (satin) and S (proof) $13.95
10 coin set - 5 P's and 5's D (satin) $21.95
10 coin set - 5 P's and 5 D's (circulating/business strike) $9.95

Sounds like they are trying to gin up interest. I imagine another combination or two will roll out this year too.

GoldRush58: That's how I read it.

I guess the rolls aren't selling well.

That will probably make the business strike cheaper from the mint than from dealers or from ebay. Of course that's assuming you order more items to spread the shipping cost.

your right
Yea, it seems the rolls arent selling that well
your right.over the 11 years thats a $550 profit for the mint 2 roll sets over face value.
with the 10 year state qtrs 2 roll series it was a $ 650 mint profit over the 10 year program @ $32.95 a 2 roll set
So basicly you will save a little more with this idea, than the state qtrs 2 roll sets and have less excess of coins, who needs all them extra qtrs anyways unless your a dealer !
great idea the mint is thinking about more smaller quantitie sales
And fewer of these being put back into the wild
witch means fewer gem b/u sets will be put together than the state qtrs

They just keep coming out with more and more ways for us to spend our money. How about just releasing the coins to the banks so I can get my own set at face?

I agree with that even make these available in the direct ship program but that will never happen.

Anyone find any rolls at the bank yet?

How do these ebay people get these rolls allot of them listed for sale the Hot Springs bank rolls.

I went crazy with the State Quarter program getting these from banks. will not do this this time will just get uncirculated coin sets every year as that will have everything needed for my two albums I will get.

I hate to give the mint the money but will probably get the proof sets of these most likely.

Bruce....

Just remember.....the Mint's Uncirculated Sets have coins with a Satin Finish.....they are not business strike coins.....totaly very different.
It's a quandary that a lot of us are thinking about though.....whether or not to differentiate the two in our albums...or just stick the Satins in there and not worry about the true biz. strikes.
It's not causing me any sleepless nights, trying to figure out what I want to do and how to do it.....but.....

1.satin p&d + proof 3coins=$13.95 2.satin p&d 10coins=$21.95 3.business strike p&d 10coins=$9.95 is that right ? In the America the Beautiful Quarters Three-Coin Set, which is listed to sell for $13.95, a coin from each of the Mint's facilities will be included - two in uncirculated condition and one in proof. One uncirculated coin will be from the United States Mint in Philadelphia with another that will originate from the United States Mint in Denver. The proof in the set will be struck at the United States Mint in San Francisco. These three-coin sets will be available for each individual site honored in the program and will start with the Hot Springs Quarter.

The America the Beautiful Quarters Uncirculated Coin Set for $21.95 will include two uncirculated coins for each site honored in the America the Beautiful Program that year. One of those coins will be struck at the United States Mint in Denver and one at the United States Mint in Philadelphia. As five new quarters are scheduled to be released each year, each set will contain a total of ten coins.

Just like the previously mentioned Uncirculated Set, the America the Beautiful Quarters Circulating Coin Set will also contain a total of ten coins, with five representing strikes from the Mint's facility in Denver and five from the Mint's facility in Philadelphia. However, just as the name implies, these sets will include circulation-quality strikes. The Mint lists $9.95 as their price

Brucec: I've checked local banks several times with no luck. I'm not sure where the sellers on ebay got their rolls. I know some like you also attended the ceremony and got rolls there.

Well I hope? to trade others that attend other opening ceremonies.

The more I think about all the crap I went through with the State Quarters I am just buying the proof sets and the uncirculated sets.

If I happen to trade some rolls here and there that will be ok but not going to knock myself out this time around.

Because then they would not be able to sell these sets at their incredible mark up! The mint is crazy, not stupid.
