I'd go with an EF-40 from very quick first impression. Nice!

I think it's pretty solid for VF-20, maybe VF-25. For EF you need complete wing feather separation out to the tips. The LIBERTY band looks a tad weak at the edges which I think precludes VF-30 or higher. In any case it appears original and should do fine for a circulated type set.

I will say VF30. It would need more feather separation on the wing tips for EF.

Yes, I think anything under $40 is a good deal for that coin. It's tough to find problem free Barber quarters in this grade.

You said it. When I was at the Coin Show this morning, I found a few VF-EF Barbers, but they all looked cleaned, dipped, etc. Some had some very distracting rim dings and marks on the surface of the coin. I was also searching for Barber dimes and Barber halves, and those too were hard to find with original surfaces in the F to EF Range.

I'm going to go with VF-25. Very nice coin, but a far cry from XF imo.
