Got 3 2112 P El Yunque National Forest Quarters today from a cracked roll at the drive through store today.
I guess I have to save them? They look pretty nice and scuff free. I just can't seem to bring myself to send em back out to get beat up. I see in completed ebay auctions some people actually paid 1.25 plus 2.50 shipping. I think that's crazy!

I've started seeing a few more ATB's in circulation. Not many though. I don't know if anyone else has the 2012 silver proof quarter set, but the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park quarter is the best looking proof yet. I'm not sure how it's going to look in clad, but that proof is amazing to say the least.

I've got the 5 coin clad proof set (will be getting the silver with the 14 coin silver proof set when it comes out), and I have to say, all five of the quarters this year look GREAT. IMO, they're 15 for 15 so far. Much better than the State Quarters, where the majority looked downright silly.

Well, the State Quarters were designed by committee from each state, and it shows with the mish-mash of themes or the cramming of as many disparate individual state symbols as could be possibly managed on a 1" coin, Cap't. The National Parks designs have had no such issues, are generally pictorial and not a composite of elements that do not "naturally" occur together. That might be violated with the Ohio quarter next year, though. The designs are well chosen, though there have been 3 quarters with hoofed animals against a mountain backdrop, so that motif might be safely retired.

Can't wait to get the annual Mint Set.
Can't wait to get the annual Proof Set.
And I can't wait to get the annual Silver Proof Set.

Probably two of each, (keep one break one) so that I can START FILLING THOSE ALBUMS WITH 2012 COINS !
WOOOOOOHOOOOO !

..................... ..................

There's nothing else like it on good sweet Mother Earth, than putting pristine conditioned coins into a Dansco album.
They make your album shine so well you could land planes at night ! ....

And yeah, the ATB's are SO MUCH BETTER than the State Qtrs.
Night and day different with quality......depth of design, etc.
They're just more like a true "artistic rendition", versus a design that you could just slap on a State flag or whatever and it wouldn't make a difference.

I still like the 2011 Glacier Natl. Park quarter the best so far, then maybe Yellowstone 2nd.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the Denali Natl.Park qtr. Because I've actually BEEN there ! ......
Seeing Mount McKinley on a clear sunny day.......(it's daylight 24 hrs. a day there in the summer !) is quite a breath-taking spectacle.
And this quarter just appears to be another good design as well........lookin' forward to it !

Just got back from buying a new faucet at the hardware store and got my first ATB Quarter in circulation, a 2011 Vicksburg D along with a nice shiny 2011 D dime that is a high AU at worse.

This week, I got two Vicksburg-D Quarters with real honest-to-goodness circulation wear on the high points!

Every other ATB Quarter I've received in changed is high AU or BU, with no significant wear or loss of mint luster.

It makes me wonder how the lava eruption area will look on the business strike version.
On the Silver Proof, it's a real eyeball-popper!

Last July, I spent $100 worth of BU Olympic National Park D Quarters while I was on vacation in that area.
One of the waitresses at the Bella Italia in Port Angeles had attended the US Mint release ceremony for those Quarters.

I have found all the 10's & 11's in rolls or change but only the P mint mark. Gettysburg is the only one that I have the D so far. I think the designs are great. Much better than the "westward Journey" Nickels.

I haven't seen any ATB's. All I see is either the statehood or the old series Washington quarters. So if I want to do a circulated ATB set I'll have to start pulling some rolls from the local bank to test my luck.

Last week I finally saw my first 2010 dimes. I swear where I live is a wasteland of current coinage (other than pennies).

Sorry for bringing up an older thread, but I didn't want to start a new one just for my ramblings.

I recently traded coins with another CCF member, and they were looking for a specific Statehood Quarter. My bulk rolls were just mixed, so I looked through each roll. I then thought about separating the quarter types into individual rolls to make this easier next time. Here are my numbers after subdividing my bulk quarters.

Random Quarter Numbers:
In my bulk coins, I have 19 rolls of 760 quarters.
of those:
411 are clad quarters 1965-1998 (~54.08 %)
344 are Statehood Quarters 1999-2009 (~45.26 %)
5 are ATB Quarters (~0.7 %)

I did not look at mint marks to see P vs D percentages.

I'm going to start buying the 2-roll sets from the mint just to get nice UNC samples for my folder. Of course the addition of the S mint really jacks with that but oh well. Such is the existence of an obsessive collector.
