Nickelman,
Your 1969 C note not only has 4 ending zeroes, but, on both the right side serial numbers & the left side serial numbers, the 2 zeroes furthest to the right side are progressively lower than the preceding digits. The 7th digit is lower & the 8th digit is even lower.

Quote: Hi, my stepson has a one dollar bill that is off-set and cut larger than usual. He is wondering where he can find out if it is worth more than $1. The offset part of it would depend on the degree of shift, but the cut larger than usual would be where the money is at. How much larger are you speaking of? Can you post a picture of the note to see the offset, and another picture of a normal note on top of this large note to get an idea of how much bigger it really is?

Is a stuck digit/letter considered an error with any premium? Or is it just run of the mill type stuff?

I don't know anything about turned digits, but that sure is a nice bright seal on that FR-36 Nick. I don't believe that you have shown that one off yet have you?

Well if it was considered an error then I suppose it would be OK to post it here. The only reason I didn't post the entire note earlier is I figured it would distract from what I was asking. Before I had this in hand I always considered the 1917 US note to be drab. But I must say that as soon as I saw it in person I really like it now. I thought it lacked color and Imagination, but no longer think so. I really like it and they are low priced enough that people can get a nice one and not go broke in the process.

You have a "turned suffix". What you need to research is whether that entire run was like that. I have some 10's and 20's that have this issue and it seems to be isolated to a particular "FRB" for that particular run / block number range. I am keeping it aside as an error and only will know when it gets graded whether the grading service will consider it an error or was within tolerance for back in time. A page or 2 down I posted something a while back.
On modern notes it certainly would be considered an error (turned / stuck suffix).
Peace

I picked this up at a pawn shop on a recent trip mainly due to the series date and the fact that it's graded (1969D in VF 20). Also, I have not seen pre 70's errors come up for sale often. Peace

I noticed something a while back on this thread but didn't mention it. I have a little extra time on my hands now, so I will say something (in the name of learning). Daviscfad's note: Quote: Davis, is the SN on the reverse or is this one of those that totally missed the overprint? Thanks
Peace Quote: mine missed that printing stage Ceylon62 Actually guys, I think that the green ink was just dry. (The treasury seal,,, serial numbers,,,, district seal,,, and district numbers are all overprints and are all printed simultaneously). Here is what a note would look like that missed that printing stage: Actually, it is rather deceptive to just look at the face of the note though, because this note did not really miss the overprint either. (Here is the back of the same note):

1935 and 1935E Silver Certificates. Yechi, I neither buy or sell directly. I buy through a 'buyer' because I don't want to deal with disputes often associated with transactions. Quote: Not to hijack this thread, but is anybody selling any of their error currency? I have noticed that you have not posted an error note of your own, but say nice things about the notes of others. When a note leaves my collection, it always leaves as a gift. PM me with your mailing address.

Quote: I have noticed that you have not posted an error note of your own, but say nice things about the notes of others. I'm sad to say that, unfortunately, I don't own any error notes. My local dealer does not sell any error coins or currency. And I'm generally too short of cash to afford ebay stuff (although I love to look). But I'm very fascinated by coin & currency errors. I've collected only coins up until my first (& so far, only) currency purchases which I made in February, 2010. My only notes: Both Uncirculated. Bookend Binary Repeater Serial Binary Radar Serial

Neat notes Yechi......My head is on the chopping block and the executioner is sharpening his axe, so PM me with that mailing address as soon as possible. I might not be around tomorrow. (Please include your email address as well).
I don't collect ink smudges and turned digits......only eye catchers. I'm going to put a smile on your sad face.
