Quote: got this $5.00 1953b at my local credit union, the teller asked if I wanted it, she knew I collected old notes. That is amazing! Nice find!

Went to a Wells Fargo in a middle class suburb, nothing too unusual about the location. I waited in line for 10 minutes, when a new teller finally opened up. I asked for $100 in ones, receive them, and notice the top bill is a crisp 1988A. I don't think too much of it, but I flip through the bills and the first NINE were all 1995 or older, with 4 of them being uncirculated 1988As. Two of them have sequential serial numbers, so I put the crisp 88As in my collection, and entered the following into Where's George to be tracked:
1985 C-D 1988 B-D 1988A F-G (this was the only worn bill of the older ones, and separated the CU 88As) 1995 B-A (was in the middle of the strap with new bills so this wasn't part of the mattress money) 1995 C-B 1995 D-G
There were also a few 1999s and 2003s in the strap that weren't next to the old bills so this is officially the first bank strap I've received with a large number of old bills!

This thread needs a bump! Last week: Series 1963 red seal $5 (x2), and a series 1953 red seal $2. My first red seal $5's encountered in circulation in 20 years of customer service gigs.

I found these this weekend. Trading coins for dollars than back to coins. I'm up to 3 star notes now.
