I was wondering if there was anything to look for that is known for the 2010 US Shield cents. I have to mint rolls and was trying to decide if I wanted to crack one or not. If there are some known varieties or errors...maybe I will crack one.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

I have not seen or heard of anything worth a hoot to look for on the Shield Cents. They are real plentiful here in West Texas by the roll(2010-D that is).

Here in Central Oklahoma they are plentiful also and have been for quite a while. I do not know of anything worth looking for either.

Aw, c'mon. It's no fun collecting if you don't ruin perfectly good rolls and proof and mint sets by opening them. There is a known 2010 DDO, but it was early on and very few have been noted since then. Rotated dies are always out there, and with the 2009 sets having pre-1982 no-zinc coppers in them, the possibility that coppers are among the rolls, sets, and proofs of 2010 are perhaps as high as in 1982, 83, and 2009. That makes them worth opening all by itself.

You can wait awhile for all the errors to be discovered, but have the prices completely stabilized OR you can open now and discover an error and get top dollar (or be the first to have it). Unlikely, yes, but you never know. I just found a dozen Yosemite errors so anything can happen.

There is 2 DDO listed for 2010 and 4 rev. Traildies listed. I opened 10 rolls out of a box and found about 40 1DO-002 and about 50 1DER-004T Traildie stages A and B.

I got a box of the 2010-D Cents yesterday. I still haven't checked them yet. But most of the ones I've seen in circulation are not event full.

Well...I guess I will crack one roll tonight. You never know. Might make a discovery. Most likely just have some nice cents to keep for collection. I just hate to see the roll...wondering what treasure might be hiding in it.

My pops is supposed to be here tonight for a weekend of camping. He was supposed to buy a box of US cents for me and bring more from his home. I hope he remembered. Will make for a nice weekend of roll searching.

I'll let you know if I find anything in the mint rolls or the box. Have a great weekend all.

Going through the box of US cents now. almost half through box and only 1 wheat so far. Six 1973 MS cents so far. Outstanding luster on them. I sort the coins by decade first then I check each coin. Getting late though and most likely wont get it fully sorted tonight. Will search tomorrow and Sunday.

Have a good weekend.

OK, someone has posited the question" How do you keep doing double and triple posts? " I am curious: is that about posting multiple posts of comparable items, or about doubling or tripling? On this post I encouraged the opening of items....had zip to do with doubling. But as the question was posted here, here goes: I am posting about multiple items with doubling. Hot Springs, Yellowstone, and now, Yosemite. I am not the only person finding these: on an internet site right now are three of the Yosemite Doubled El Capitan for sale by one seller. I posted a similar pic of the same error some days ago. Moreover, that trio of errors is superlative, showing the COMPLETE progression. What's more, his came from bags, whereas mine were from rolls, another tidbit. Another Yellowstone I posted yesterday had what appeared as a dropped letter, but had been previously described by experts as Machine Doubling. It appeared that I was posting doubly about a double, but it really was about the very first Hot Springs and the Yellowstone. I thought them doubles, others saw them differently. I posted a pic afterwords which demonstrated a view of the error which said different things about the first error I posted. Further, I took some proactive steps to ensure first strikes this year" I ordered in the first 30 minutes of ordering, I paid for expedited handling, and all my issues were received in LESS THAN five working days, and that is a land speed record for me. Consequently, I saw these somewhat earlier than others, and I posted them quick: these are important to collectors to see. Sure I seem to post lots, but it lets others can see and make their own minds up. Some folks bulked up on orders, as did I. That's why I seem to post double about doubles here. Three items, different errors. And.....I am nowhere near done. I have another Yellowstone error, but it has not allowed me to get a good image of it yet. When I do, this forum sees it pronto, and I hope that is considered a good thing. Keeping these under my hat is a disservice to the community of collectors who seek new items to collect. Sadly, I offered some of the hot springs up to collectors-for FREE- and got ONE taker. One day in the not too distant future, that will change as folks let these set in on them.

Legend, I think all they were referring to is that in a lot of threads, you post twice to each thread (not your posts about doubling). On your last post just above mine, you did not. Your post above that, with "Aw c'mon..", posted twice. It's like an echo.

Well, I had not noticed, but sure enough by some electronic quirk that posted twice, so please ignore the second post, as everything I wanted to say was in the first post, LOL. I will pay more attention to that oddity, as it sure is befuddling to me....one key stroke yields twice the result. Now if I could just get my stock fund deposits to do the same thing! And a very grateful thanks for that heads up, so the moderators can note it and see what is up with that. Could just be my palsy, though. I am old, after all.
